Discover and Explore your Passion—Annual High School Special Event Series

Hear ye! Hear ye! Dancers, musicians, thespians, singers and artisans, we request your presence at this year’s Arts Conference. On Friday, October 6, 2017, spend the day with us and ignite your creativity. Delve into intensive hands-on workshops in dance, music and theatre at Adelphi’s Performing Arts Center (AUPAC)—one of the most exceptional performing arts facilities on Long Island. The event also features keynote speaker Telly Leung!

Leung grew up in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn and attended the math and science specialized high school Stuyvesant High School. He then attended Carnegie Mellon University’s School of Drama. Telly has appeared on Broadway in Flower Drum Song, Pacific Overtures, the final Broadway cast of RENT (which was filmed live and is available on DVD), Godspell, Allegiance and most recently In Transit. Leung has appeared on television in Glee (as Wes of the Dalton Academy Warblers), Law & Order: Criminal Intent, Odd Mom Out and Deadbeat. Telly appears on the cast recordings of several musicals and has two solo albums—”I’ll Cover You” and “Songs For You.” Beginning on June 13, Telly took over the role of Aladdin in the hit Broadway musical Aladdin.

Workshops will be assigned on a first come, first-served basis. Workshop selection is subject to change. Students can select their top three workshop choices prior to the event. We will do our best to place each student in at least one of their top choices. 

In addition to our traditional workshops, we are now offering Departmental Audition Workshops to students who are interested in auditioning for theater, dance or music programs during their college application process.

These are participatory workshops, where interested students can get immediate feedback on their audition pieces. Students prepared with a monologue, dance piece or music piece may opt to audition during this workshop for our College of Arts and Sciences selective theatre, dance and music programs here at Adelphi.

High school seniors will get priority for these new audition workshops. Students will have the opportunity to register for the following workshops on the online registration form:

  • Music Audition Workshop  ***Senior Priority (either vocal or instrumental)

**Please come prepared with two copies of a piece to sing and (the university will provide an accompanist)

All students must register for the workshops no later than Friday, September 22, 2017.

All students and faculty must sign the Photo Release Form. Faculty must either bring all collected, completed release forms on the day of the event or send them in advance via email to
